Did you know that a bill was passed to help our hometown heroes be able to afford a house?  The hometown Hero Housing Program is a loan program that provides some upfront homeownership costs to qualified firefighters, law enforcement officers, teachers, nurses, and other hometown hero professionals to become homehowners.  Zero interest loans are provided to help with down payment and closing costs.  When the home is sold, refinanced, or rented, the loan will be repaird, creating a continuous cycle of funds for homeownership among Florida's essential workers.

For over 25 years my yacht club tradition and history has beckoned all who love the water to socialize and live life to the fullest.  Each summer the club presents the Blessing of the Fleet event where Mariners line up in formation to hoist their flags and parade to receive blessings and spiritual water.  My husband and I hosted over 20 residents to parade in our beautiful lagoon and finish the event with a Low Country Boil.
